The World Bank President Appreciates ACLEDA Bank

After a visit on August 04 to ACLEDA Bank's micro-entrepreneurs who are making success of their machining workshop, Mr. Robert B. Zoellick, the World Bank president, wrote a letter of compliment to ACLEDA Bank for the excellent work ACLEDA Bank has been doing in microfinance in Cambodia, and its plans to expand in the region.
In the letter, Mr. Robert B. Zoellick stated that it was interesting as well as inspiring to see that Leap Roth, Yi Lab and their workers are making a success of their machining workshop, and at the same time producing farming equipment that is suited to Cambodian budgets and conditions.
He also added that he was satisfied and delighted to hear ACLEDA Bank was expanding its branch network that shows very clearly what remarkable success ACLEDA Bank and the whole Cambodian microfinance industry has achieved in a very short time and IFC has contributed to ACLEDA Bank's success through equity, investment and advisory services and that this is likely to continue as it expands beyond Cambodia.
Mr. Robert B. Zoellick thanked for an excellent visit and wishing Mr. In Channy, President & CEO of ACLEDA Bank, and all ACLEDA Bank's staff every success in the future as they continue to expand and set an example not only for the financial industry, but also for the private sector as a whole.
